Recording messages
Editing, re-recording, and deleting messages.
Yes to all three. Here's how, and what gets kept.
Updated
You can edit, re-record, or delete any message at any time before it's delivered.
Edit metadata
Title, recipient, delivery date, prompt — all editable any time. Edits don't change the recording itself.
Re-record
Open the message, tap Re-record. The new take replaces the old one. We don't keep prior takes by default — if you want a take preserved, download it before re-recording.
Delete
A delete is a soft-delete for 30 days, then permanent. Inside the 30-day window you can restore from your account's Trash. After 30 days the file is purged from our storage and from any backup snapshots within the next 90 days.
Already-delivered messages
Once a message has been delivered to a recipient, it lives in their copy of the vault — you can no longer recall it. You can delete your own copy, but the recipient retains theirs. This is intentional: a message you sent your kid is theirs to keep.
