What Would Dad Say.

Do you train AI on my recordings?.

No. Your voice, video, and text are yours — not training data.

Updated

No. We do not use your recordings, your transcripts, or any of your content to train AI models — ours or anyone else's. We do not use one user's content to improve the experience for another user.

This is a hard policy, not a "by default" setting you have to dig into preferences to find.

What we do use AI for

We use AI in a few narrow places — all of them tools, never replacements for you:

  • Prompt suggestions — choosing which prompt to surface from our pre-written library, based on signals you provide (your kids' ages, milestones already covered).
  • Transcripts — converting your audio and video to searchable text inside your own vault. Transcripts are stored only for you.
  • Search — letting you search your own vault by topic.

When AI runs against your content for your benefit, the upstream model providers we use are configured for zero data retention — your content isn't stored or used by them after the request completes.

What we never do

  • We never generate "messages from dad" — synthetic recordings in your voice, written content attributed to you, or AI-generated video of you. Every message your recipients receive is one you actually recorded.
  • We never share your content cross-user, including for retrieval-augmented prompts or recommendation systems.

If we ever change this policy, we'll tell every user before any change takes effect — not in a quiet update to the privacy policy.
