Getting started

What is What Would Dad Say?.

A short tour of what this is, who it's for, and what it isn't.

Updated

What Would Dad Say is a way to record advice, stories, and encouragement now and have them delivered later — at the moments your kids will actually need to hear them.

The product has three parts:

  • Prompts. Hundreds of questions that give you a place to start, organized by milestone, topic, and life stage. No blank page.
  • Recording. You answer in your voice — video, audio, or text. Whichever feels honest. Hit record, say what's true, and you're done.
  • Delivery. You pick the moment. Their 18th birthday. The day they move out. The morning of their wedding. Or send one today.

Who this is for

Any dad who wants his kids to hear his voice at the moments that matter — whether that's next week, next year, or decades from now. Traveling dads, deployed service members, long-distance dads, stepdads, new dads, dads thinking long-term.

If you've ever thought my kids should know this and not known how to tell them, this is for you.

What this isn't

This isn't a journaling app. It isn't social media. It isn't an AI that pretends to be you.

We don't simulate, impersonate, or generate new "messages from dad." Every message a recipient gets is one you actually recorded. Anything our AI does — prompt suggestions, transcript summaries — is clearly labeled as a tool, not a stand-in for you.
